love - serve - share - encourage - inspire

If you have family members with special needs, those involved in New Hope Church Disability Ministry look forward to sharing Christ's love with you and your family. Contact Pastor Aaron Hamel at 763-971-5117 or email him for more information.

As Jesus taught, we are to love one another. He did not make distinctions about what kind of people to love. In fact, he even instructed us to love our enemies. He also told us to look out for orphans and widows-all those who are unable to look out for themselves. Jesus has a special place for those who seem "less than perfect" in the eyes of the world.

At New Hope Church, we also welcome all people. For those with special needs, NHC Disability Ministry offers wonderful opportunities for fellowship, worship and serving.

"'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" -Matthew 32:36-39

Our Mission

Disability Ministry exists to serve people with developmental disabilities by loving like Jesus, sharing God’s Good News, and encouraging them to live like Jesus. We recognize that in God’s great wisdom, people with disabilities inspire and encourage the world.

Our Vision

We seek to love people in Christ, inspire others to be more like Christ, and encourage others to take part in our Christ-centered community.

Our Values

We value worship (living for God), prayer (talking with God), the Bible (learning about God), Christian community (encouraging each other in Jesus), and evangelism (telling others about Jesus). We seek to include everyone, especially those affected by disabilities.

Accessibility

New Hope Church is equipped for those with special needs. Entrances to the church are wheelchair accessible, as are the rest rooms. An elevator is available between the upper and lower level.

For Youth

Sunday School
Disability Ministries’ for Youth ministers to your child through loving care, Bible stories, music and projects that are appropriate to his/her age and abilities. Our goal is to provide children with the opportunity to know Jesus as their Friend, Savior and Lord! Our class meets during the 9:30 hour on Sunday mornings. To involve a child with special needs in a Sunday School class, please contact Disability Ministries.

Respite Night
Once a month we provide a Friday night event available to families who have children with special needs. Dinner is provided.

Pastor’s Note

What a privilege and an honor it is to be called the Pastor of this group. I have been deeply blessed to grow to know God more with the Disability group. God’s love shines brightly through their lives. While they might not use the big words the Bible School teachers use, so many of their hearts are obviously given to the Lord. When I walk into a Disability Ministry event, I know I will be blessed to find it is a Christ-centered community for all believers. If you have a disability and have not come already, I hope you can come join our loving Christ-centered community, where we love and inspire others to be more like Christ every day. -Pastor Aaron Hamel
