"Resolved: to study the Scriptures so steadily, constantly and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive, myself to grow in the knowledge of the same." - Jonathan Edwards

If you're looking for an ordinary Bible study you've come to the wrong place.

The Keystone Biblical and Theological Seminars for men are designed for men who are interested in getting serious about studying the Word and drawing out theological and practical applications.

There are no prerequisites, and whether you've been a student of scripture and theology for one day or for 50 years, you are more than welcome and will benefit from this class. But we will not be content to skim along the surface. Keystone goes deep.

We meet Mondays at 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Ministry Center on the Main Campus. Enter the church through the main covered entrance and the Ministry Center will be right in front of you.

There is no cost and no registration is necessary. Bring something to write with and a version of the Bible well-suited to careful study (ESV, NAS, or NIV are great options). If you desire to be a part of the study but do not have a Bible, please email Pastor Bryan and he'll hook you up with one.

Fall 2010 Study

“Death By Love: Seminars on the Atonement,” taught by Pastor Bryan McWhite (Beginning 9/20)
This series, first taught three years ago at NHC, will seek a deep biblical, theological and practical understanding of what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross. As New Hope Church strives more and more to become a Cross-focused congregation, we need both a strong grasp on what happened at the Cross and an understanding of why it matters for us men as we try to lead and love with strength and humility in our church, home and workplace. Contact Pastor Bryan for more information.

Listen Online

Even if you can't make it every Monday because of business travel or family obligations, you can keep up with us by downloading the notes and audio from each session online. Or, maybe you thought the evening's topic could be particularly helpful to a friend and would like to pass it along. Downloadable seminar audio and notes from the current series are usually posted by the following Wednesday. Download notes and listen online to "The Beginning of the Story: The Book of Genesis," from our Spring 2010 seminars.

General Resources

  • The ESV Study Bible is now by far the most useful study Bible available. It offers a wealth of excellent notes on the biblical text as well as helpful articles on Bible study methods, doctrine, ethics and general orientation to the books of the Bible.
  • The How to Read the Bible Book by Book: A Guided Tour is an excellent introduction and orientation to each book of the Bible, giving strategies for reading each book well and helpful synopses of each section of a given book to aid in comprehension.
