Isn't it amazing to watch how often God brings his church together in unity
by what he teaches, challenges and encourages through what we read. Of course,
that is most powerful as we read his Word, but he has also gifted and anointed
talented authors to impart important insights and lessons. The following
books have greatly impacted members of the NHC staff. Perhaps God will use
a few of them in your life too!
As you read, make a practice of measuring the infomation against the Word
of God. Get into conversations on the concepts you read about and seek wise
counsel as you look for direction. Learn about the authors and what they
hold as core beliefs. Pray for God to give you wisdom and understanding to
discern what is truth. Ask him to teach and transform your heart and mind
in the process. Consider starting a book club or inviting a small group to
discuss a book over dinner. There are numerous fun and thought-provoking
ways to grow in your faith, relationships and personal maturity as you read
