Most Christians are familiar with the Great
Commission given by Jesus in Mark 16:15: "Go into all the world and
preach the good news to all creation.” What? Into ALL the world?
That is a huge task! While that is true, we also recognize that we are just
one part of how God is reaching the world though his Church. With that in
mind, we have identified a strategy for how NHC can be most strategically
be involved in a limited number of areas of the world. By focusing in this
way, we believe we can make a significant impact in those areas.
NHC’s strategic vision, Our High & Holy Calling, includes
being “extended to the world.” This call comes to
life through Global Ministries. We work toward fulfilling the great commission
by sending or partnering with and supporting over 50 western missionaries
and numerous foreign nationals in various regions around the world.
Global Ministries monitors and studies changes that are constantly
occurring throughout the world, especially in our strategic focus areas.
We must be vigilant to adapt our methods or seize new opportunities to reach
populations who may have never heard about Jesus or had the opportunity to
follow him.
We also desire to educate and involve the NHC community in global
missions. Many Christians have a fuzzy understanding of what “missions” is
and how they can be involved. Have you ever considered going on a short-term
