Steve, Pam, Issac and BettyFamily: Wife, Pam; daughter, Lori; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kristyn; and grandchildren, Isaac and Elyzabeth.

Education background: B.M.E. from Drake University; M. Div. from Talbot Theological Seminary; Th.M from Biola University; D. Min. from Trinity International University.

Equipped for Service: I am a redeemed sinner that has been saved by the grace of God from a life of destruction unto a life of bringing honor and glory to God. He has chosen to gift me as a pastor/teacher and called me to love, teach, encourage and lead his people gathered here at New Hope Church.

Prepared for Service: I have not always been a believer in Jesus, so my life before Christ helps me understand and identify with those who do not yet have faith in Jesus. I am naturally weak in my own capacity so this helps me understand those who struggle with living as they know God desires. I have pastored for 30 years and this gives me perspective on just about anything that can arise within the church and within the lives of individuals.

Appreciation for NHC: What I see is a love for Jesus, a love for people, a love for the city and a love for the whole world. New Hope Church is a place where folks can come to know Christ and a place where they can grow in Christ. It is a warm, welcoming and healthy community in process and in transition in order that we can be as strong and effective as possible.

Steve and BettyFree Time: I very much enjoy being with my family, spending time alone with Jesus in his Word, golf, most all sports, reading and working on my lawn.

Scripture: "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service for him even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was more than abundant with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am the worst of all." 1 Timothy 1:1-15
